About Us

The search for Kim Mitchell’s lost guitar was begun in early 2025 by Max Webster expert Bob Wegner and renowned music promoter Lou Molinaro.

Bob Wegner

Based out of Montreal, Quebec, Bob is a professional musician and music historian with 20 years of experience as a performer, composer, writer and radio show host.

Bob has written what can only be called the definitive history of one of Canada’s most beloved bands. The first run of Max Webster: High Class sold out within a short time of its release, and he is currently working on a second edition containing amazing new content, including images from Kim Mitchell’s own archives. Bob has been credited in no less than a dozen other publications and musical releases for anything from fact-checking to photo archivist.

A multi-instrumentalist, his musical career highlights include playing with Classic Albums Live, performing on Canadian Idol, and being personally selected by Dr. Brian May of Queen to play guitar in the “We Will Rock You” musical – twice. Either solo or with bands, he has appeared on the bill with artists like Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), The Darkness and Honeymoon Suite. His debut album Changing of the Guard was released in 2017.

In 2022 Bob hosted a weekly show on Montco Radio called “Bollocks with Bob,” which has been archived in perpetuity at bollockswithbob.com. The episode on Roger Taylor’s solo career got a mention on the official Queen website and Brian May’s website and got 5000 spins in its first few days of being available

Lou Molinaro

Lou is a veteran Canadian music promoter who has done most of his work in Hamilton Ontario. Born and raised in Oshawa, he was fascinated by The Garys [Topp and Gold] who took music promotions to another level. He promoted his first show in Ottawa and hasn’t stopped since.

You probably recognize Lou’s name from being the co-owner of Hamilton’s infamous Live Music Venue, This Ain’t Hollywood (2009 – 2020). “The Saint” hosted a myriad of concerts – bringing national and international acts to the Steel City. They also nurtured the local talent and gave many hometown acts a stage to perfect their craft.

The other side of the coin sees Lou as a Hamilton radio personality. He has hosted his award-winning radio show, Lou’s Control (a spin on Lose Control) since 1998. You can hear his program Wednesdays on 93.3 CFMU FM – cfmu.ca

Currently, Lou teaches Talent Buying & Venue Management at Durham College and the Harris Institute for Music. He continues hosting concerts and blasting out Rock N Roll weekly on his radio show.

Finally, he’s an over the top music fan.
